Testimonials

Since I wasn’t there on Sun, I just wanted to send an email thanking you for
providing such an incredible program. I am so fortunate to have found you and am so glad I took the time to fit your training into my life. What I learned from you was worth every penny of tuition, and I believe my experience will change my life course. I am inspired by your success and passion – thank you for creating such a well thought out and comprehensive yoga training program! Alina Roselli.

Besides having access to a vast amount of information and superb teachers (James and Ann), I have learned an enormous amount about myself and my SELF, and how I can use yoga as a tool to help myself and teach others how to help themselves. Katherine Moermond.

I learned a great deal about my personal practice and have been able to take my teaching to a completely new level that my students have commented on very positively. Particularly, the information on anatomy was very useful. I had known some about the philosophical and spiritual aspects of yoga, but this course helped deepen and clarify a lot of ideas. The portion on why you sequence a particular way was extremely helpful for my understanding and has translated very well into my teaching. This course has helped refresh my enthusiasm for my practice and put me on what I feel is a good path for me to follow as it goes on and on with no final end point. Marisa Williams.

The theory and anatomy study changed why and how I practice, and the change in my practice has changed who I am. This year has been one of transformation for me – not just in my physical body but also in how I encounter the world and make conscious choices about how I live. I’m looking forward to discovering how teaching yoga will continue to work on me and change me. Jennifer Perrine.

I now have a greater understanding of the many components that create an individual and effective practice of yoga. I’ve always believed that the mass group yoga experience couldn’t be the only way, and was so grateful that this course reinforced personal development combined with the energy and unity of a group. I am certain that this combination creates a more rewarding and effective practice that people can call their own. James is leading the way for this new way of thinking. I now have a stronger foundation and can approach yoga as a teacher and a student with greater confidence and joy, knowing I’m not done yet, but the path is filled with opportunities. Tracey Kelley.

Although I’d been teaching yoga for many years, I now have the teaching skills and knowledge solidified and deepened so I can confidently take my place as a professional yoga teacher. Carol Morehead.

I was in Iowa in 2009 and I attended your classes. I want to say again that I enjoyed them so much. I have not found better yoga classes since and I have tried several of them in Scotland and now in Australia where I relocated at the beginning of this year. (I got my dream job here.) Your class is definitely the best yoga class I know and I would love to practice the same style in future but it probably means that you would have to relocate to Australia! :-) You have been doing a great job and thanks again! Barbora.

I attended your classes in Des Moines today, and really enjoyed your teaching style. Not only was there a great deal of humor and lightheartedness, there was a depth of understanding and compassion combined with your knowledge of yoga and of yourself. Thank you so much for sharing your yoga journey! With respect and gratitude, Jan Mitchell.

God I LOVED this class!!! This was insightful and inspiring and gave me an entirely new perspective on yoga!! HURRAY for James! It left me wanting more . . .

This class had a huge impact on how I will teach and really opened my eyes to some other considerations in sequencing. You should write a book!

Miller is a born teacher who shares his knowledge and perspective with a passion that’s contagious. I can’t say enough good things about his sessions.

This was a great class. I would like to take more classes from James Miller. He’s either an A1 bullshitter or one of the most insightful instructors in tailoring yoga to the individual’s needs.

I learned so much from this class, and heard people around me saying how amazing the various things James was saying and teaching were. I appreciated the straightforward, simple and yet profound, kind approach of the class and the teacher. This surely is what yoga is all about.

I gained so much knowledge in Silence in Symmetry, things I really didn’t think too much about. Thank you, James. I will be waiting patiently for that book.

James, I wish I had taken more of your classes. I thought your class was great!!!

Okay, best workshop of the weekend. James has a way of making everyone in a room feel welcome and appreciated. I deal with patients and students with yoga and he offered some great ideas for teaching AND for my own personal practice.

Great! Time spent well. James is a teacher with little or no ego. That is so essential to be open and sharing in this global experience right now.

I gained more insight from this class than any other I signed up for. Thank You!!!!

James brought up so many great ideas and thoughts that I have not currently explored in yoga!! Thank you for shoulder roll!! This has always been an area of mine that I have felt was not openly addressed with other classes.

James offered great information, broken down into digestible chunks and with plenty of time to put it into practice. This class was the most helpful for my own practice.

Very nice. James brought out new perspectives, which is important at this level.

This class was profound. So often true balance is overlooked and the body mind connection is ignored.  Really great class!

James had a very welcoming message about how to approach my practice with fewer goals and more instinct. His message about how our bodies needs have changed due to the change in our daily activity was right on, and I would love to participate in more of his classes.

This session was very inspiring and insightful. I enjoyed it very much.

James really knows how to conduct a class. I really liked this one.

The breathing lessons were great. Used some of these techniques at work this week when I was stressed. I loved the different poses (table, sideplank, and plow), and I really liked learning the new stretches for shoulders. I will definitely do these at home.

Wow! I thought this workshop hit a home run with me. James gave me many things to ponder and to pass on to my yoga friends.

I had some issues getting checked out and missed being able to get to the inversions class that I had signed up for and I ended up in James’ workshop. What a happy accident! I learned so much from his workshop and really enjoyed his teaching style. Wish I had more chances to work with James!

James is an excellent instructor with a well-laid out lesson plan.

I’ve been using his reminder to breathe equally and his shoulder roll in my classes this week, and got a great response from my students.

I thought the Silence in Symmetry was the very best session. It was really helpful and informative!

James had excellent ideas and ways of thinking about balance.

I loved the class! It was very informational. The ‘edge’ was different than I expected, but different in a good way. I found it insightful that ‘the edge’ is not perfecting that pose I do pretty well or getting one inch closer…but rather to find the edge in poses that are not so easy for me. Again, so much information to absorb in a short 2 hour class. The number one thing I took from this class is that I need to develop my own personal practice. I already ordered The Heart of Yoga and spent yesterday clearing a spot in the basement for my personal practice.

Great! I enjoyed the theoretical sessions and the practice sessions throughout this workshop.

What can I say? You are the best, James!

This was a transformative workshop, affecting my practice as well as how I think about my practice.

This was an awesome class…I learned a lot of new things and some accountability for my practice!

Outstanding session. I did the Sunday session as a follow-up. Both classes exceeded my expectations. Each taught me a lot and gave me great guidance for getting better about my own home practice.
